Netflix’s Criminal: Date, Plot, Cast and More

Criminal is Netflix’s new international crime procedural drama series consisting of twelve total episodes, with three episodes each set across four countries filmed in local languages France, Spain, Germany and the UK written and directed by talent from their respective countries. David Tennant and Hayley Atwell lead the cast of the UK episodes of the drama, which takes place exclusively within the confines of a police interview suite. Criminal: UK is scheduled to be released on September 20, 2019, on Netflix streaming.

Exciting new series follows an elite team of police interviewers as they try to extract crime confessions from a group of tight-lipped individuals. It is described by Netflix as a “stripped-down, cat-and-mouse drama” which “focuses on the intense mental conflict between detectives and suspects”. Here is the official promo message by the Netflix for Criminal: UK, “Within the walls of an interrogation room and with time running out, London investigators go after three suspects, each accused of a grievous crime.”

France: Margot Bancilhon, Laurent Lucas, Stéphane Jobert, Anne Azoulay, Mhamed Arezki. Germany: Eva Meckbach, Sylvester Groth, Florence Kasumba, Christian Kuchenbuch, and Jonathan Berlin. Spain: Jorge Bosch, José Ángel Egido, Nuria Mencía, Daniel Chamorro, María Morales, Javi Coll, and Milo Taboada.

Netflix has released a trailer for Criminal: UK with a short description, “12 unique crime stories, 4 countries, one chance to uncover the truth. Criminal arrives Sept 20th. Only on Netflix.”
