The Kominsky Method: Season 2 Premiere Date Plot and More
The Kominsky Method is an eight-episode, half-hour single-camera comedy web series of Academy Award winners Michael Douglas and created by Chuck Lorre who is known for shows like ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and its prequel spin-off ‘Young Sheldon’. The first installment premiered on Netflix on November 16, 2018. The show became one of the most loved comedy shows and won the Golden Globe Award for best comedy series. After those successes, Netflix didn’t waste a moment in renewing it and on January 17, 2019, the second season got thumbs up for the renewal. However, there is no official date fixed for its premiere. But, we can hope for the second season to stream on October 25, 2019.
Douglas said in a speech, “Streaming has made television much more acceptable to film folks. That’s why you’re seeing so many film actors go in… That’s why now you’re seeing situations like The Kominsky Method, a half-hour comedy which can be 25 minutes long or 40 minutes long. You can say anything you want. There are no commercials. It’s as close as you can get to a short film. For me, at this point in my career and at my age, this is fantastic. I love it.”
The Netflix comedy follows “Sandy Kominsky (Douglas) an aging actor who years ago had a brief fling with success and is now a revered acting coach. Interesting plot with funny incidents revolves around Sandy and his longtime agent and friend Norman Newlander (Alan Arkin) in their later years in Los Angeles a city that values youth and beauty. Season two will see Sandy meeting and bonding with his daughter’s new boyfriend (played by guest star Paul Reiser), who is uncomfortably close to his age. On the other hand, Norman reconnects with an old flame from his youth (guest-starred by Jane Seymour) and after five decades, they decide to restart.
According to Netflix, there are new additions for the second season. The show will be joined by Jane Seymour, Jacqueline Bisset, and Paul Reiser. Jane Seymour will be playing the role of a seventy-something woman who is well-to-do. It is Jane with whom Norman, played by Alan Arkin had a love affair before he met his wife in the ’60s. They meet each other yet again after 50 years. Bisset will play the role of Gabrielle who is Mindy’s mom, played by Sarah Baker and is Sandy’s played by Douglas, French ex-wife. Then comes Reiser who plays the role of a sixty-something high school teacher who romantically connects with Mindy.
