‘Rick and Morty’ is an adult animated sci-fi sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. The show centers around the Smith family, which consists of married couple Jerry and Beth, their two children Summer and Morty, and Beth’s alcoholic mad scientist father Rick, who has commandeered their garage for use as his personal laboratory. As of October 1, 2017, 31 episodes of Rick and Morty have aired, concluding the third season. The series has been picked up for an additional seventy episodes over an unspecified number of seasons. The fourth season is scheduled to premiere on November 10, 2019, and will consist of ten episodes.
The official word from the network states that “Adult Swim has made a long-term overall deal with the creators that will include 70 new episodes of the critically acclaimed series that follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe.”
Each season of Rick and Morty has the same relatively sparse cast. That’s what happens when your creator (Justin Roiland) also voices the two main characters among countless other folks. Expect Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell, and Spencer Grammer to return and fill out the roles of the Smith/Sanchez family. Harmon and Roiland also revealed in an interview that Paul Giamatti, Sam Neil, Taika Waititi, and Kathleen Turner are set to guest star in the new season.
In July, the show’s creator Dan Harmon said in an interview, “I think it’s safe to say without fear of being wrong that the gap between seasons three and four will be the longest and last time that it’s ever so long that it’s ridiculous. “I don’t know how fast we can do it, but I know it will never be this long again. There were so many things that had to be settled before we even started season four.”
UK Netflix currently has three seasons of the popular animated series Rick and Morty available to stream. Given season four of the series has now been announced, some fans have been wondering if it will be available to stream on Netflix as well! The first five episodes of season four will begin airing in the US on Adult Swim on November 10 at 11:30 pm ET. For fans in the UK, it seems viewers will have to wait a little longer but no exact date has been revealed yet.
